Everything you need to fish Alaska, in one app
Alaska FishTopia is the Alaska fishing app that puts what anglers check before and during a trip in one place: the Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s (ADF&G) daily fish counts and run history, emergency orders, tides and currents, marine forecasts, buoys, river gauges, the regulations, AI fish identification and last-minute charter deals. It runs on iPhone and Android, and it is built in Alaska by real Alaska fishing guides and professionals.
Featured: what Alaska anglers use most

Halibut spots on the map Curated fishing spots
Knowing where to start is half the battle on new water. Our team maps the spots, so you never start from a blank chart.
Map layers for salmon, halibut, rockfish, lingcod, trout, char, grayling, crab and clams. Tap a spot for best season, tide, depth, gear, tips and photos. Works offline.

Windy.com forecasts, inside the app Windy wind and sea forecasts
Wind and seas decide whether you cross the bay or stay in the river. Check the forecast map without leaving the app.
Tap Wind on the Intel map: a full-screen Windy.com map with eight layers, from wind and waves to swell, currents and sea temperature, each explained.

An emergency order, with its full text Emergency order alerts
ADF&G opens, closes and changes fisheries in season by emergency order, and the printed booklet will not show it.
Push alerts for any of 21 subregions across the Interior, Southcentral and Southeast. Each order is on the map with its full text, dates and species.

A regulation booklet in the app Regulations, even offline
The rules change by water, species and date, and the best fishing is often where cell service ends.
ADF&G’s regulation booklets for the Northern, Southwest, Southcentral and Southeast regions, saved on your phone to read offline.
Here is everything else it does, in the order you use it: plan the trip, go, fish, stay legal and share it.

Know when the fish are in
ADF&G counts, run history, goals, peak forecasts, the Fishometer and count alerts.
See the details
- Daily ADF&G fish counts for salmon and steelhead runs around the state, searchable and filterable, as a daily or cumulative chart or a table. See the latest on our Alaska fish counts page, or the Kenai, Kasilof and Russian River counts.
- Run history. Put this season next to past ones, with 3-year and 5-year averages; some runs go back decades. An animated chart plays the seasons back.
- Escapement goals drawn on the cumulative chart, so you can see how a run is tracking against what ADF&G wants to reach the spawning grounds.
- Peak-run forecast. The predicted biggest day is marked on the chart, with early and late runs shown separately where a river has both.
- The FishTopia Fishometer. A 0 to 10 score for how hot a run is right now, with its trend (heating up, steady or easing off), a next-3-days outlook, how much of the run is likely in and the projected season total.
- Fish count alerts. Favorite a run and get a push alert when ADF&G posts its count: the day’s number, the season so far and progress toward the goal, with a chart image. We also send alerts for first fish, a season high, the biggest jump, a goal reached and when the biggest day looks close.

Built in Alaska by real Alaska fishing guides and professionals
Alaska FishTopia is built in Alaska by real Alaska fishing guides and professionals. We fish these waters too, and we built the app we wanted: one place for the counts, the water, the weather and the rules, instead of a dozen bookmarks and a regulation booklet in the glovebox.
Fish counts are how ADF&G tracks whether enough fish reach the spawning grounds, so we show each run’s escapement goal next to its count. Alaska FishTopia is independent: we are not affiliated with or endorsed by ADF&G, NOAA, USGS or the National Weather Service, and we build on their public data.

Get the app
Alaska FishTopia is free to download for iPhone and Android. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial, then it is $9.99 a year.
Note about our data
Alaska FishTopia is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. We aggregate publicly available data from ADF&G (adfg.alaska.gov), NOAA (noaa.gov), USGS (usgs.gov), and NWS (weather.gov) for informational purposes only. Always verify with official sources.
