Escapement are used to determine the health of the fishery. Escapement simply means the number of fish that are able to spawn
Many of Alaska’s most popular rivers and salmon species have annual escapement goals.
When the minimum, optimum, and maximum escapement goals have been reached limits are often raised by Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Conversely, when runs are particularly weak and it doesn’t appear as if escapement goals will be met, fisheries often have limits reduced or restricted
8 years of historical escapements are available, along with minimum and maximum escapement targets, along with a running 3 year average
